Your Nomination
Title for nomination:

Andrew and Susanne Ruthven's contribution to OSS in New Zealand

Nominee's name or organisation:

Andrew and Susanne Ruthven

Overview of your nomination:

Andrew and Susanne Ruthven were the directors of LCA 2010, a Linux conference held in Wellington, New Zealand this year. Both Andrew and Susanne worked tirelessly to ensure a successful conference, providing the opportunity for 100's of open source contributors and users to gather and discuss topics related to open source during the course of a week. Not only did it facilitate existing open source contributors and advocates, it also helped raise the awareness of open source in New Zealand.

Reasons for winning this award:

Andrew and Susanne dedicated an entire year for helping to organize LCA2010, an entirely unpaid voluntary effort. While they had a strong team around them to help them, they were inspirational in their leadership, planning and without them, the conference could not have happened.
